Where Do We Come From?
What Are We?
Where Are We Going?

Paul Gaugin, 1897

In conjunction with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

Gauguin wrote, "The Impressionists look for what is near the eye, and not at the mysterious centers of thought."  He, in contrast, sought to capture an inner world of fantasy and dream and considered this enormous canvas, created in Tahiti, his masterpiece.

"Explanations and obvious symbols would give the canvas a sad reality."  Gauguin wrote, "And the questions asked (by the title) would no longer be a poem." 1897

The detail of the band focuses on a child eating fruit while the detail on the dial centers around a young man plucking fruit from a tree. Gauguin's greatest work translated into a watch is full of symbolism and intrigue.

This watch is made of stainless steel and water-resistant to 30 meters.  The case is 1"w x 1 1/4"h and features a curved back case designed to fit comfortably around the wrist.  Unisex in size, it designed to fit men and women alike.
