Mosaic Tile Watch (Isfahan) Adapted from 16th century Synagogue Wall, Persia from the Jewish Museum, New York.
Decoration adapted from a mosaic synagogue wall, Persia, 16th century.
The floral arabesques, flowers, and leaves on
this watch face are based on the patterned designs of a 16th-century faience tile wall. This important mosaic tile in The Jewish Museum's collection once decorated the face of a wall housing niches for the Torah scroll in a Persian synagogue in Isfahan. Ancient Persians used glazed and cut tiles as architectural decoration. The technique, revived centuries later, evolved into large scale and complex multicolored ceramic ornamentation.
This watch is made of stainless steel and
water-resistant to 30 meters. The case is 1"w x 1 1/4"h and features a curved back case designed to fit comfortably around the wrist. Unisex in size, it is designed to fit men and women alike. Sold with a wine color leather band, an optional black leather, black stainless steel and brushed stainless steel band can be ordered.
The Mosaic Tile Watch features great detail from embossed flowers and unusual shapes to colors of yellow, brown, grape, raspberry, and
green all bordered within a black frame. Designed by Daniel Will-Harris |
